Celebrate Mathematic Movement

S.D Public School hosted Phase-III of Mathematics Movement on 30 April2015 at Ramakrishna Auditorium, Delhi.It was an event to celebrate the legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan under the aegis of department of Science and Technology,Govt. of India.Tha programme was catalyzed and supported byRashtriya VIgyan Evam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad,DST New Delhi.
In phase-I and phase-II of M.M, activities based on varied mathematical concepts around crafts,vedic mathematics,ICT and problem solving ,interdisciplinary approach to teach mathematics and international standard assessments were designed and presented for students and subject teachers. This event was packed to the brim with loads of brainstorming workshops, interactive sessions and exchange of ideas among eminent resource persons, students and teachers. 
Students and teachers from various reputed schools from Delhi and NCR participated in it with great zeal and zest.The event comprised of a gamut of action each designed to cater to different age groups-primary,middle and senior.
The Chief Guest Dr B.P Singh,Director NSCSTC,Deptt. Of science and technology addressed the august gathering with his inspiring words and appreciated the school for creating a unique platform for exchange of mathematical discourses among resource persons,academicians and students. A souvenir showcasing Mathematics movement with all its important events was also released on this occasion.The Principal, Mrs Anita Sharma welcomed the dignitaries and spoke on the objective behind the three phases of Mathematic movement .The Chairman of the school,Sh K.L Bansal ,other office bearers of the school ,Sh. Atul Kothari SSUN Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, Swami Shantatmananda ji graced the occasion.
Eminent resource persons Dr C.K Ghosh,Director NationalCentre of innovation,IGNOU, ,Mr Rajesh Thakur,author of more than 30 books on contribution of India in Mathematics enlightened the students and the subject enthusiasts. 
The motive of the event was to give a platform to pupils for learning mathematics through fun and activity and remove Maths phobia from the young minds. It focused on the challenging problems in Mathematics. 
A plethora of cultural performances in the form of artistic yoga,mathematical skit and a mathematical film by Vigyan Prasar enthralled the audience.
The students of participating schools were recognized and awarded on this occasion for their valuable contribution in the Mathematics movement. The Principal Mrs Anita Sharma proposed vote of thanks to all the eminent guests,resource persons and participating schools.
